Dr. Ketteman grew up Oak Grove, Mo. After graduating from Oak Grove High School, he utilized a Presidential Scholarship to attend Baker University in Baldwin City, KS. Dr. Ketteman dual majored in Biology and Psychology, with minors in Sociology and Chemistry. He received his dental degree from University of Missouri- Kansas City’s School of Dentistry. He began his practice in Palmyra, MO, practicing there for seven years before relocating to Quincy. Today, Dr. Ketteman continues to practice one day a week in Quincy and teaches dentistry at SIU School of Dental Medicine., where he is an Associate Professor.
As part of his walk in faith, Dr. Ketteman established a permanent dental clinic in the Atacama Desert, serving the Aymara Indians of Chile at an agricultural school associated with the United Methodist Missions. He was also one of the first two dentists to go into the mountains of Costa Rica to provide dental care to the indigenous peoples there with a mission team from the Quincy Presbyterian Church.
He is married to Shiwand Thomas and has a son, Trevor.
